The summer is in full swing. We all know what that means – we drink more water. The water doesn’t have to be boring and tasteless. Try water infusion. These water infusion recipes do not only look beautiful and colourful on your dining room table but the fruit, vegetables, herbs and/or spices provide a nice taste to the water, without adding calories or any artificial ingredients. They are perfect for summer – serve it at a party, braai, family dinner or simply have a pitcher in the fridge to drink throughout the day.

Methods:

  1. Select any of the above combinations (or be daring and create your own combination).
  2. Chop or slice the ingredients until the preferred size and volume. The more ingredients you add, the more flavoursome the water will be.
  3. Add the ingredients to a pitcher (2 liters)
  4. Add the ice on top of the ingredients (fill approximately half of the pitcher)
  5. Fill the rest with water (spring or sparkling).
  6. Refrigerate for 1 – 2 hours before serving. If the flavor is too overwhelming, add more water before serving.
  7. Enjoy

The pitcher can be refilled 1 – 3 times before it starts to lose flavour
